On a very windy day at Scrubs Farm, Tonbridge Invicta produced a 'smash and grab' raid on the Bromleians to inflict a first defeat in three for the home side.
Bromleians the notorious fast starters, where once again quick out of the traps.
It all started so well for the Broms, after only 10 minutes when a long ball wasn't dealt with by the Tonbridge defence and it let in Steve Shippey who squared the ball across the box for a simple tap in for Alfred Keroma his 11th of the campaign.
Bromleians were guilty of not finishing off Tonbridge within the first half hour when McCarthy, Keroma & Wade all wasted guilt edged opportunities.
Tonbridge pulled level when a good move down the right hand side was converted by Cooper, an almost identical goal as the first. 1-1 H/T.
The second half was largely hampered by the strong winds forcing both teams to change their usual styles of play.
Bromleians tried to keep the ball down, going into the strong winds and Tonbridge doing the opposite smashing almost everything high and long, trying to take advantage of the difficult conditions.
Bromleians came agonisingly close to taking the lead in the 55th Minute when Shippey found a way through all the white shirts only to see his thumping effort cannon off the inside of the post and go behind for a goal kick.
5 Minutes later a long clearance from the Tonbridge defence caught both Bromleians centre backs, Clifton & Commerford napping and Cooper ran on to easily slot home his 14th Goal of the season.
From then on, it was backs to the walls stuff for Invicta as Bromleians sieged their box for the final half an hour.
Shippey & Keroma failed to find the back of net in the final stages for Bromleians as Tonbridge held on to take an unlikely three points.
