This was lydd reserves first game back after christmas and also the first game with there new player manager Michael Doyle. From the start lydd reserves looked up for this tie and they were showing it. With the return of the Drawbridge brothers and also the appointment of new captian Lee Gosbee things were already looking good and lydd reserves were showing very good disipline on and off of the pitch. In the first half lydd were controlling the speed and flow of the game for the first 10-20 minuites, creating some good passing football and keeping there shape well. Oakwood put the pressure on and made young keeper David Hughes pull some great saves out of the bag. Ding ding round two and again lydd began to dominate the second half with some exellent chances and great running form Peter Kane and Dan Edwards, Then from out of the blue Sid Beal found himself 25yrds out and decided to shoot, GOAL for lydd reserves what an absolute screamer into the top left corner of the goal. Oakwood were quick to respond though,on came a sub for Oakwood and with that a goal. It was back to 1-1, Lydd resereves kept there heads up and showed great determination thoughout the game. That was it final whistle, 1-1 was the final score and a well deserved point for both teams.
