Bearsted 0

Orpington stretched their winning run to six matches when they easily overcame Bearsted at Green Court Road.

The O's were reduced in number after just eight minutes when Danny Sandford was dismissed for striking an opponent.  But this loss was hardly noticed as the team of ten set about their business of securing three points.  The O's had to wait until the half-hour mark before opening the scoring - George Belchamber pushed the ball through to Gary Gorman who invited Anthony Weir to fire home from inside the penalty area.

Bearsted tried to assert themselves more in the second-half and indeed came close to reducing the arrears on one or two occasions.  However, their more positive attitude left gaps in their midfield which the home side exploited.  Just after the hour-mark, Orpington went further ahead when Dave Johnson passed to George Belchamber who hit a ball over the Bears' defence for Anthony Weir to run onto and score with a low shot past Phil Lewis, in Bears' goal.

Weir completed his hat-trick on seventy-five minutes by tapping-in Gary Gorman's pass from close range.  This seemed to signal the end of Bearsted's resistance and further goals flowed - Gary Gorman, wide on the right, chipped Lewis from thirty-five yards for number four; two minutes later and Rob Quick blasted home from just inside the area for the fifth; barely a minute had past before Gary Gorman added his second, and the side's sixth, when he got onto the end of a long-ball played over the Bears' defence; just time for a seventh from the greedy Anthony Weir who added to his hat-trick when he converted Gary Gorman's low cross.

This Saturday, the O's travel to Northfleet to take on Fleet Leisure.
